Portland-born Jeff Minnieweather began his musical journey at age 8, performing in church. By 12, he had toured with the gospel group Mighty Wings of Faith and appeared weekly with his church’s choir on KATU-TV's “Hallelujah Sunday”He studied with legendary drummers Mel Brown, Greg Warner and Joey Barron along with Louie Bellson at jazz camps held at University of Portland. He attended and performed with the Mt. Hood Community College's award-winning big band. 

 

Jeff's career spans jazz, funk, R&B, and gospel. He toured with Portland's iconic funk band Cool'r, which was inducted into the Oregon Music Hall of Fame in 2009, and recorded with the Curtis Salgado Band, earning six Muddy Awards. Over the years, he has worked with music legends such as Ike Turner, Buddy Guy, Shirley Caesar, Chuck Berry, Robert Cray, Steve Miller, Leroy Vinnegar, Bud Shank, Joe Louis Walker, Larry Vuckovich, Mary Stallings, Noel Jewkes, Tony Lindsay, Azure McCall and many more.

 

Jeff continues to share his passion for the arts through performances and strives to leave a lasting legacy through his contributions to the music world.
